Tim’s Recap
Last night we held our 3rd AUG Ohio gathering for Acumatica users in the Columbus, Ohio area.
π₯ͺ Thank you Jeremy Burt and Paya for sponsoring the food. Looking forward to working on ideas together for future gatherings.
π Neil Slabaugh and Mike Leedy drove all the way from Northern Indiana and Jeff Rose drove up from Cincinnati.
π Todd Bunce had some questions about the Fixed Assets module in Acumatica.
π¦ Omar Lieves, MBA, CSM gave us an update on how their implementation of Dakota WMS (from BFC Software) is going. He even agreed to come on my Acumatica Podcast to talk about it!
π₯ Cindy Brass was trying to get Copy/Paste to work on the Project Rates screen. We looked at it as a group and it doesn’t seem to work there. Using an Import Scenario though looked promising.
π± Richard Reynolds showed us a cool map that he built using ArcGIS which is software designed for plotting data on a map. It looked very clean and easy to consume. He didn’t have his laptop so he cast his phone to the big screen (smarty pants).
π₯ Cassie (Cassandra) Moore, MBA was quieter than usual since she just got back from Atlanta and was catching up on email. But she still came to support. She doesn’t know this yet, but I’m going to ask her if she’d be up for presenting at our next gathering π
π‘ Mike Leedy and Neil Slabaugh had some cool things to say about the MuleSoft product that they’re implementing with Acumatica.
π¨ Stephen Hennelly and I worked on an idea to connect Generic Inquiries to Export Scenarios for getting large datasets out of Acumatica. I worked on it last night which yielded this post (work in progress):
AugForums.com/Forums/Acumatica-Generic-Inquiries/Generic-Inquiry-to-Export-Scenario
πΌ We’re now in the habit of taking a group picture during the gathering and I think it’s cool to look back on the pictures from previous gatherings. So I created this page to collect Acumatica User Group gathering pictures:
AugForums.com/AugPictures
π A few people from the group are going to attend AUG Summit 2022 next month in Atlanta. More info on that here:
AugForums.com/AugSummit2022
β We’re planning to meet next in November, earlier in the month than usual because of Thanksgiving.

Tim’s Recap
Tonight we held our 2nd AUG Ohio gathering for Acumatica users in the Columbus, Ohio area. π Mike Mahannah even drove all the way up from Cincinnati. π₯ͺ Thanks to Mark Skelly, Mike Mahannah, and Kaitlin Burt from Pacejet, a division of 3Gtms, LLC. for sponsoring the food. Nice touch allowing everyone to place their own individual Panera order ahead of time. The boxes even came labeled with each person’s name which made distribution super easy.
π We showed our gratitude to Pacejet, a division of 3Gtms, LLC. by holding their sign in the picture below.
π I learned about a voice-activated WMS solution that works with Acumatica from Omar Lieves, MBA, CSM. It was Omar’s first time attending and it was my first time hearing of the WMS solution that he’s implementing. I’m hoping to have Omar on my Acumatica Podcast to talk about it after his implementation.
π‘ Bronwyn Duprey had some good tips about making Acumatica product suggestions. There was even a suggestion that she created recently which others were interested in and now they can go vote for it.
πΎ Mark Chamberlain asked if anyone had experience implementing in-house EDI with Acumatica. I think Bill Congrove is working on something similar at the moment so maybe they can connect. And maybe Ruslan Devyatko can come next time so Mark won’t be the only developer π
π Jude Dille CPA is in the middle of an Acumatica Upgrade. It was interesting to hear the first step in his upgrade plan which I thought was pretty wise. Good luck Jude!
π Aaron Wilcheck got some help with a Generic Inquiry that he was working on. We had to look at the SQL Trace to get to the finish line.
π§ Cassie (Cassandra) Moore, MBA led the charge on the laptops coming out which was my number one goal for tonight so thanks Cassie! She was even brave enough to plug-in to the big monitor which led to a group discovery related to OData unexpectedly impacting an Import Scenario fed by a Business Event.
π² Cindy Brass talked about a field tech reporting solution that she’s implementing. She was also one of multiple people (including Todd Bunce) who mentioned something that they did with Velixo recently. Maybe they’ll be watching Gabriel Michaud and I on Excel Talk tomorrow.
π Stephen Hennelly plugged into the big screen and gave us a tour of the Acumatica Community website which he monitors on a daily basis. We compared the built-in search with using a Google search confined to the site.
β We’re planning to meet next in August, one month before the larger AUG gathering that Joel Gress is organizing in Atlanta, and Chris Hackett is helping to organize AUG gatherings in other cities.

Tim’s Recap
Interested in an Acumatica User Group in your area? Last night we held the inaugural AUG Ohio gathering in Columbus, Ohio. This was the first in-person Acumatica User Group gathering since the pandemic began in 2020 (at least as far as I know).
Two additional people showed up after we took the picture below, bringing our total to 10 people, including Laura Jaffe (remote) who was going to drive down from Cleveland, but had to cancel last minute due to weather concerns.
10 people is not bad for an initial gathering. I’m sure that we’ll have more next time, especially since I already have a list of people who I’ll be bugging for next time π
Ya, I’m talking about you Bob Black, Bronwyn Duprey, and Claire Walton from Aktion Associates Also Michael Oswalt and Mimi Bertram from Algorithm Inc. Also Chris Isbell from Martin and Associates. Or maybe Corey Clay and Jim Gross from NexTec Group? Or anyone from Charleys Philly Steaks? Or anyone that Fred Reiter knows from his company’s Ohio location. Or maybe an Acumatica employee like Luis PingarrΓ³n, Maja Talevska Milenkovska, Ruslan Devyatko, or Todd Kuhns from the Acumatica office here in Columbus? Or maybe Chris Hackett will fly in to attend? Or maybe Gabriel Michaud will fly in (yes, Velixo came up multiple times last night)?
I’ll also be going through the Acumatica users listed on this map, looking for people around the Ohio area:
AugForums.com/Rolodex
The room capacity is 60 so we have some space to grow.
The Group Time format seemed to go well last night. For a general idea of what we did during Group Time, checkout the podcast episodes below.
We’re planning to gather again in May, in a few months, and we’ll be using a private “AUG Ohio” forum on AugForums.com to discuss things that came up last night, vote on things for our next gathering, and keep track of who is planning to come to the next gathering.
Stay tuned for an Acumatica Podcast episode with feedback from the group about what went well last night, what didn’t go well, and ideas about how to make things better for the next gathering in May. Keep an eye on this page for the Podcast episode:

What Acumatica User Group will be gathering in-person next? Joel Gress in Atlanta? Patricia Bennett and Neil Cantral in Seattle? Mark Solberg and Arline Welty in Chicago? Justine Crowley and Nicole Ronchetti in the Northeast? Ron Fairchild and Terry Culbertson in Texas? Jim Woodhead in Southern California?

Here are two podcast episodes that talk about the format of our gathering and how you can start a gathering in your area:
